Prep Baseball Report

Senior Spotlight: RHP Cooper Haseley

Phil Kerber
Georgia Scouting Director

Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season in limbo, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. Starting today, we will be spotlighting several uncommitted prospects to help them get the exposure they need to play at the next level.

Today, we spotlight RHP Cooper Haseley (2020) from Walton HS and 643 Cougars. Haseley remains one of the top uncommitted arms in the Georgia's Class of 2020. The 6-foot-3, 186-pounder came through LakePoint in the fall with 643 at the Adidas Three Stripe Classic and definitely caught the eye of our scouts. He came on in relief and impressed with a quick, whippy arm action and a fastball that he ran up to 89 mph with life. He coupled this with a slider in the mid-70s that was effective and induced swing and misses. Haseley lean frame carries projection and plenty of room to add mass and strength in all areas. This right-hander would be a nice addition to many pitching staffs and could contribute immediately.

Scouting Report

10/01/19 - 6-foot-3 175 pounds. Haseley has quite the dominant relief appearance for 643 going two very strong innings sitting 85-89 with a 75-76 slider. The arm was super quick and whippy as he worked from a low 3/4 slot; the fastball had late life and was very effective when he worked inside. With the arm speed he showed and current wiry frame, its hard not to imagine more velo in the tank for right hander.
