Baseball looked a lot different in California this past fall. Despite limited access to fields and COVID protocols that have changed the baseball landscape, baseball found a way. Prep Baseball Report - California was able to run events across the state allowing prep players a chance to showcase their skills. The SoCal I.D. Camp, Trosky RedBirds Scout Day and SoCal Birds Scout Day highlighted the 2021 uncommitted fall slate.

Prep Baseball Report scouting staff insights along with TrackMan and Blast Motion data produced a plethora of information helpful to understanding a players skill set. Looking back at these fall events and rereading the scout blogs have shined bright on thirteen uncommitted 2021 players.

Scouting Report

Positional Profile: RHP/SS Rare to find a submarine pitcher with good spin rates at the high school level. Has a chance to be an effective reliever at the college level.
Body6-1, 165-pounds.
DeliverySide arm/Submarine arm drives mechanics, short extension, head balance and landing are key to success.
Arm ActionRH. Low release with funk, arm worked consistently, tough matchup for RHH.
FB: T77, 74-76 mph. Fastball spin rate 2257 (max) and 2152 (avg) play up the low velocity. Fastball max spin is right at the MLB average showing this pitch has a chance at the next level.
SL68-70 mph. Frisbee slider, highly effective to RHH and LHH when located properly. Spin rate 2341 (max) - 2270 (avg), close to the MLB average as well. Effective breaking ball that is a different look and an out pitch.
