Player Spotlight: Ryan Owens (Park Hill South, 2020)

Owens is a 5-foot-9 161-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 6.95 60, a 4.50 home to first, and had a 77 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, no wasted movement in load, quiet hands with slight weight shift, hands accelerate through contact, short to contact, level path, middle to pull side contact.  On the infield, stays under control with footwork, clean exchange, high three quarters arms lot, short arm circle, creates momentum with through the catch, mostly accurate throws.
