Risers In The 2020 Overall Rankings

Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

The 2020 Overall Rankings have been updated to reflect the early portion of the season. Baseball is well underway in warm weather states and a bunch of prospects are showing the results of their offseason work. The Hotlist looks at a dozen players whose stock is on the rise so far.

Hunter Barnhart, RHP, St. Joseph HS, CA
An Arizona State recruit, Barnhart has a durable build at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds with a strong lower half and broad, thick shoulders. He is an above-average athlete, having garnered interest in football as a quarterback. He has continued to slim down and add strength to his frame. His fastball is sitting 91-94 mph and he shows control over command. He has two different breaking balls—one with bigger 12/6 shape at 75-78 and a shorter, tighter one at 79-81 that he can throw under the zone for swings and misses. He also mixes in a changeup at 82-84 with sink and fade.
