What made UMBC the right fit for you?
+ I loved the campus and the coaches. I played there over the summer and really liked the field. I know I will develop and come out the best person I can be, academic wise and baseball wise.
What was the recruiting process like?
+ I had interest from a lot schools throughout the process. Some points were very slow. I missed out on big events (due to injuries) that would give me the best opportunity to put myself in front of a lot of colleges. The process got very frustrating. I knew the summer going into my senior year was going to be big so I worked hard towards my goal to finding the right college.
What other schools did you consider?
+ UMES, Delaware State, Rutgers
What were key factors you were looking for during the process?
+ Location, playing time, cost, coaching staff, and academics.
What are your goals now before you step on campus?
+ Stay healthy, get stronger, and work on my athleticism.
What have you learned from your time with your high school / travel organization?
+ At Dover High, Coach Gordon runs a really good program. He has prepared me for the next level. Playing with the Mizuno Aces National Team, I learned how to become a better leader and motivate others to keep striving for success. Both programs has molded me into the player I am now.
What advice do you have for players going through the recruiting process?
+ Put yourself out there. If you are really interested in a college, go for it. Look at as many schools as possible. Take all schools into consideration because you will find that you will change your mind a lot. Make sure you are looking at the academic side also, that's the most important part when making your decision. Just trust the process and keep working hard. And remember, this will be the most important decision after highschool. You want to make sure you are confident with your decision because you will spending your next four years at that school.
