April 29, 2012
Taylor Cooper, LHP, Defiance HS
PBR: Why did you choose Cornerstone?
Cooper: I love the coaches there, and its a first year program, which means I can help set the standards the first year, for players to come
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Cooper: None. My mind was set on Cornerstone and wanting to attend there
PBR: Where did the Cornerstone coaches first see you?
Cooper: PBR Showcase in Indiana Wesleyan
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Cooper: Being the best pitcher that I know how to be
PBR: Conerstone will starting there inaugural baseball season next year. How does it feel to be a part of the first recruiting in the history of the program?
Cooper: It feels amazing to know that I am part of the first recruiting in the history of the program. That way, when I go somewhere, I can look back and say that I was one of the first players to make history at Cornerstone
PBR: Defiance has a rich tradition of great pitchers (Billingsley, Kime, Burgoon and Niese) What is it like to be a part of the that elite group?
Cooper: I don't think I am a part of that group yet, if I make it big, then I will be a part of that group. You have to earn your name to be a part of that group
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Cooper: My parents and my grandpa.
