Q and A with 2013 Buffalo Commit: Alec Tuohy (Gahanna Lincoln HS)

PBR: Why did you choose Buffalo?
Tuohy: The coaches showed a lot of interest in my as a pitcher and I really enjoyed campus and the players on the team. I feel that if I work hard enough I will be able to have an opportunity to pitch early.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Tuohy: Elon, Villanova, Wright State and Heidelberg.
PBR: Where did the coaches first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?
Tuohy: At the Walsh Jesuit Showcase for the Cure. They called me in July with interest and came to see me pitch at Kent State. I went up to visit the campus and met them and we continued communication through phone calls and emails regularly.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Tuohy: They expect me to work hard, learn from my teammates and possibly contribute on the mound.
PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Buffalo baseball?
Tuohy: I am dedicated, committed, loyal, coach-able, hardworking and I HATE to lose.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Tuohy: I play for the Ohio Elite. My most memorable experience this summer was forming new friendships and playing at all the different college facilities.
PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team for the rest of your senior season?
Tuohy: Focus solely on baseball and winning our division and hope to go far in the state tournament.
PBR: What were your stats for last spring season at Gahanna?
Tuohy: I went 5-4 with a 2.73 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. A BA of .385 and a Fielding Percentage of .985 at Shortstop
