PBR New York sat down with Longwood HS standout Andruw Gazzola for a question and answer session.
PBR: How did you prepare for the 2014 HS baseball season?
Gazzola: I went to play in Houston for a few weeks in the winter and did a lot of baseball specific weight training at a local facility all winter.
PBR: What are your strengths and weaknesses as a baseball player?
Gazzola: Strengths are hitting balls to all fields and plate discipline. Weakness would be my inconsistent power and aggressiveness on base paths.
PBR: Who is the best player and best team you have seen all season?
Gazzola: Joe Flynn and Chris Cepeda of Ward Melville HS and Ward Melville HS.
PBR: Tell us a fun fact about yourself others might not know.
Gazzola: I was named after the former Atlanta Braves outfielder Andruw Jones.
