Progress Report: RHP Crayton Burnett

As we dig through the players and numbers from this past winter, we are taking a look at a "Progress Report" feature that highlights players that have shown significant improvement in their game; whether it's on the mechanical end, performance wise, physicality or in the measurable statistic department. What Did We See?
Burnett has been getting quality innings since his freshman year for 2A power St. Joseph-Ogden. Burnett has long been a pitchability right-hander, who fills up the strike zone and can throw any pitch in any count. Between our last look at Burnett in July of 2019 and the Preseason All-State this February, Burnett added 20 pounds of quality muscle and grew an inch. Burnett is now listed at 6-foot, 170-pounds and has seen his velocity and stuff tick up as a result. Given his pitchability, clean arm and spike in velocity, Burnett is an intriguing uncommitted arm in the Illinois' 2021 class.
