By Drew Locascio
Illinois Scouting Director

As we dig through the players and numbers from this past winter, we are taking a look at a "Progress Report" feature that highlights players that have shown significant improvement in their game; whether it's on the mechanical end, performance wise, physicality or in the measurable statistic department. The "Progress Report" can be a minor improvement in recent months or a substantial transformation over time. Today we take a look at:

Scouting Report

Crunching The Numbers
FB Velocity (Peak): 89 mph (Previous 85 mph)

FB Velocity (Range): 87-88 mph (Previous 83-85 mph)

What Did We See?
Plumley has always had a clean, live arm and a firm cureball thrown with intent. Over the last six months or so, Plumley has grown an inch, put on 10 pounds and has seen his velocity jump from low-to-mid 80's up to 87-88 mph, touching 89. Plumley continues to throw an aggressive curveball that now sits 73-76 mph with late bite. Plumley has emerged as one of the top uncommitted junior arms on the market.

Stay tuned over the next couple of months as we will continue to check-in on prospects throughout the state of Illinois who have made noticeable improvements to their games.
