Progress Report: Kole Klecker

PBR has had the chance to dig through the players and numbers from the summer & throughout tthe beginning of the fall where we have seen several players make some significant jumps in recent weeks. Today, we will be taking a look at a "Progress Report" feature that highlights players that have shown significant improvement in their game; whether it's on the mechanical end, performance wise, physicality or in the measurable statistic department. The "Progress Report" can be a minor improvement in recent months or a substantial transformation over time. Today, we will be taking a look at 2022 RHP Kole Klecker (Hamilton).

2022 RHP Kole Klecker (Hamilton)- uncommitted, last attended our 2022 Top Prospect Games where he showed as a high upside right-hander from a 6-foot-1 175-pound projectable frame. Klecker was even highlighted in mid May as one of the top "Rising Arms" in the 2022 grad class in Arizona. At our. 22TPG in mid June, he worked 79-83mph with his FB from a repeatable low effort delivery with body control.

In recent weeks, Klecker has seen some uptick in his fastball velocities. At Lakepoint earlier last month at WP, he pitched for Sandlot baseball where he sat 83-85mph while looking like he'g gained some strength especially in the lower half. Most recently, he pitched last week in the Junior Classic where his FB topped out at 88mph while sitting in the 85-87mph range in the first inning. He struck out 8 batters in the game while allowing one run. Klecker looks to be moving a bit faster down the mound with some added direction. Klecker should continue to be arm to follow in the 2022 class in Arizona.

June 2020: FB: 79-83mph; CH: 73-75mph; SL: 74-76mph

October 2020: FB: 85-87mph; CH: 76-78mph; SL: 74-76mph

6-foot-1 175-pounds, thin projectable body, high waisted with long limbs, above average athleticism and body control. Repeatable low effort delivery. Throws with short arm action from a ¾ arm slot. Arm gets up late at front foot strike at times with hips open. Athletic finish. Threw strikes at the top of strike zone, missed down to the glove side. FB Sat 79-83mph with some arm side run. Threw a SL with some firmness at 74-76mph. CH had low spin at 73-75mph. Development should be followed.

6-foot-1 175-pounds, lean high-waisted body with long limbs. Some projectability to his frame. Body can hold more strength & weight. One of the last pitchers on the night but didn't disappoint. Low effort delivery. Forward trunk tilt at release. Easy arm action from H¾ slot. FB sat 80-82mph consistently. Developing feel for off-speed. CV had varying shape but showed glimpses of sharp 12/6 action at 69-71mph. Mixed in a firm SL. CH showed little fade at 72-73mph. Development should be monitored. Chance to make jumps with added explosiveness.
