This week's highlight follows a top performer from the Bucks County Generals scout day and compares the improvements made over a year's time. A Junior two-way prospect has made numerous leaps since our last look this past summer, thrusting himself into the "must follow" tier. 




PROGRESS Report

Last Look Notes: June 15, 2021, PA State Games, The highly athletic primary shortstop established a comfortable in-game approach with a multitude of hits and ability to turn the barrel to different zones. Though there was more to be had during batting practice, the hit tool played and blended well with the typical arm-talent displayed in the dirt and on the mound. The right-hander threw strikes over two innings of work, getting the fastball over for strikes (79-82 mph) and mixing a leveraged 68-70 mph curveball. Although the measurables were just above-average at the time, the actions suggested a higher ceiling and plenty more left in the tank. 
Recent Improvements: February 26, 2022, Bucks County Generals Scout Day, Showed off improved physicality, now standing with pound-for-pound strength at an athletic 6-foot, 170. Blew the doors off of the event, leading us off with a loud bullpen session where the fastball held high-80's velocity (87 mph AVG) and bumped up into the 89 mph range on his final pitch. A sharp 74-76 mph curveball commanded strikeout feel with hard 11/5 shape and adjusted spin rates, and was thrown with similar confidence as a 80-82 mph CH in his back pocket, displaying natural arm-side run towards the hands of RHH (14 inches, 50% zone rate). Equally impressive, the righty produced quality connection scores during BP and whipped the barrel through the zone for heavy contact to the pull-side, averaging a 92 mph EV and reaching a 96 mph best during his round. Both 366 foot batted ball distances and an 82% hard hit rate were personal records, adding to the intrigue that both the eye-test and advanced measurables offer.
