PROGRESS Report

Last Look NotesFebruary, 15, 2021, Baseball U PA Scout Day: The tall and projectable 6-foot-1, 183-pounder featured simple bat-to-ball skills during a quality batting practice round with a top-hand dominant approach. Adequate lower half drive into the front-side and recorded an 86 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak. Showed some early rotation at times in the box, creating a mostly pull-side attack. Demonstrated the athleticism needed to make quick gains offensively in the next 6-12 months. Handled himself well around the bag defensively with range to his backhand side and notched a 73 mph arm-strength across the diamond.

Recent ImprovementsMarch 6, 2022, Northeast Pride Scout Day, More physical now at 6-foot-2, 185lbs, Balcerzak sprayed loud contact through the middle of the field with barrel-lag present and a 93 mph peak bat-exit velocity (+7 mph). The leveraged right-handed hitter kept the sweet spot in the zone for length and extended well, driving the ball for distance up to a 336 foot max distance. There's increased efficiency at the front of the plate, flowing through a full range of motion with complete feel for his base offensively. The first baseman/outfielder featured positional flexibility and bounced around with confidence during defensive evaluations with an accurate 79 mph arm strength (+6 mph). Profiles as an intriguing run-producing bat and has the chance to slot into the middle of the order at the next level.
