Preseason Prospect ID: Stats Breakdown

The Preseason Prospect ID took place on Sunday, January 27th at Smith Wills Stadium, in Jackson, MS. The open event featured 50+ prospects – from across the state of Mississippi - complete the 60-yard dash, positional workouts, live batting practice with exit velocity station, and pitcher bullpen sessions. Here's a look at the numbers from Sunday's event.

Parker Ryan (Jackson Academy, 2021) clocked the quickest 60 of the event, posting a time of 6.7-seconds. Chandler Pittman (Magee, 2021), clocked a time of 6.8-seconds, while Blake Pierce (Brandon, 2021) followed suit with a time of 6.93-seconds.
Mississippi State recruit, Josh Hill (Indianola, 2019) and Nikolas Mazza (Madison-Ridgeland Ac., 2021) topped the fastball leaderboard touching 88 mph on Sunday.
Mississippi recruit, Kelly Crumpton (Jackson Prep, 2021) registered an event best 99 mph exit velocity. While Southeastern Louisiana recruit, Bo Gatlin (Oxford, 2019) registered 95 mph. Wesley Sides (DeSoto Central, 2020) also showed off quality bat speed, registering 94 mph.
Vantrel Reed, Hinds CC signee (Warren Central, 2019) showed off his arm strength on Sunday, posting an event best 91 mph positional velocity. While Nikolas Mazza (Madison Ridgeland Ac. 2021) and Robert Riggin (Raymond, 2020) registered 87 mph and 86 mph respectively, across the diamond.
Trip Wilson (Tupelo, 2020) topped the leaderboard at 91 mph, followed by Vantrel Reed (Warren Central, 2019) with a positional velocity of 90 mph. While Chandler Pittman (Magee, 2021) showed off quality arm strength for the age, posting positional velocities of 83 mph.
Austin Lee (Germantown, 2020) posted an event best pop time of 1.9-seconds. While Chance Nabong (West Harrison, 2021) and Parker Ryan (Jackson Academy, 2021) posted a time of 1.95-seconds.
