The Bishop Noll Warriors, led by Head Coach Paul Wirtz, enter the 2013 season with high expectations after a 2012 season that saw the Warriors go 22-7 overall and claim the Greater South Shore Conference championship. Bishop Noll was nearly perfect during the conference schedule with a 13-1 record. Coach Wirtz returns five starters and three pitchers to the 2013 team.
Leading the way for the Warriors is right-handed pitcher Danny Pobereyko. Pobereyko, a 6-foot-5, 215l pound senior, went 4-0 last season. Pobereyko has committed to play for Coach Steve Farley and the Butler Bulldogs. Another top performer is senior third baseman Julian Guerrero, a Prairie State signee. Another prospect drawing interest is junior outfielder Larry Crisler.
Other players expected to make an impact are Angel Figueroa, a junior infielder, and Jaylen Yarbrough, a junior outfielder. Coach Wirtz has high expectations for his squad to defend their conference title and make a deep postseason run.
