Preseason Classic: IMG v American Heritage - MVP James Wood

Rocco Iervasi
Florida Director of Operations/Area Scout

Day 3 of the 2020 Preseason Classic featured a matchup between American Heritage Plantation and IMG Academy. Two talented pitchers got the starts as 2022 Vandy commit Brandon Barriera faced off against 2020 Coastal Carolina commit Aaron Combs. Barriera came out pounding the zone but his defense failed to back him up as they made several errors early leading to a few runs. Combs was up to 92 and was effective early for IMG.

IMG took the lead early and never looked back as they took a 15-3 victory over American Heritage. 2021 Mississippi State commit James Wood collected two hits for IMG including a double and tallied 4 RBI for the game. He is our Preseason Classic Game 5 MVP.
