6 foot, 180 pound athletic frame with slender strength in both the upper and lower halves. Slightly crouched stance at the plate with knees inside the feet. Load shows a slight arm bar and steeper bat path to contact. BP round showed good awareness of the barrel with low line drive tendency. Occasional gap to gap power to the pull side. (85 EV) Efficient routes to balls in the OF and a fundamental pro step with a smooth transition into an OTT release. (79 mph) Accurate throws with carry present.

Scouting Report

1.19.19

Stocky frame and strong lower half. Upper body has room for future development. Slightly open stance with a larger stride back to parallel. Lofted bat path with occasional barrel release. Potential uptick in pull side power possible.  Swing can get rotational at times and snap the barrel out of the zone. May struggle with higher velocity. Average first step quickness but runs well once he gets going. Quick pro step into a high ¾ release, 78 mph OF velo with carry to the target.

Pitchers

Scouting Report

High waisted 6 foot 5 frame with lengthy arms, frame will support additional mass through development. Works with a short rocker step and hands set at the belt. Reaches a balance point above the waist and works with a linear delivery landing slightly closed of his line. High ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action, slightly abbreviated on the backside. FB showed sinking tendency when thrown to the arm side. Inconsistent getting downhill. Breaking ball landed for strikes with flashes of late action and 10/4 shape. Inconsistent hand speed on CH.

Scouting Report

6 foot 1 youthful frame with high upside. Long arms and good hand size for a player at this stage of development. Repeatable delivery with a high ¾ arm slot. Landed on line to slightly open of the line with his target. Easy delivery, slightly rotational. Commanded the FB at 78 with occasional ASR. Arm slot changed slightly on breaking balls. CB with tight rotation and plus pitch potential. CH hand speed varies

Linear delivery with a balance point above the waist and short arm stroke on the backside. Works down the mound with extension, landed open of his line and falls to the 3B side. Slurvy SL with 10/4 shape, lowers the arm slot at release. Maintains FB hand speed on CH.

Scouting Report

1.19.19

6 footer with slender frame and long arms for his size. Delivery has become slightly  more rotational since the last time we saw him. Landing point was inconsistent. High ¾ arm slot floated to OTT occasionally. ASR to the FB up to 74. Not much downhill finish to the delivery. Side to side, slurvy breaking ball with early action and loose rotation.

Catchers

Scouting Report

1.19.19

Thick and sturdy frame with broad shoulders and thick lower half, prototypical catchers body. Stance slightly outside the shoulders with a soft stride. Simple hand load turns the front shoulder slightly and releases the barrel with natural loft. Ball comes off the bat with carry when he catches it cleanly. Low, athletic catching stance for his size. Strong hands that meet the ball out in front with confidence and clean transfers into a quick release. Fringe arm strength present, clean mechanics will support a positional velo jump. Erskine College Signee.

Scouting Report

1.19.19

6 foot 1 athletic frame with ample projection for additional mass. LHH with a big stride and high hand set. Late getting onto plane at times.90 mph exit velo transferred into BP round with explosive hips, staying behind the baseball with gap to gap power. Confidence in the swing and good bat to ball skill. Solid defensive tool, pocketed the ball well from a low athletic crouch. Accurate throws with carry to the bag. 7.35 runner has some straight line speed once he gets going.

Scouting Report

1.19.19

5 foot 11 medium proportional frame with moderate strength present. Has added some mass since the last time we saw him. LHH w/ toe tap leg kick timing mechanism. Loose rhythm and movement to the barrel pre-pitch. Loads down and back into a set position with the barrel behind the head. Wanted to pull the ball during his BP rounds with a mixture of low line drives and balls elevated into the OF. Smooth footwork to ground balls with choppy transfer and wasted hand movement at exchange (82 INF Velo). Glovework and skillset suggest he could play any of the three INF positions. Worked as a catcher with a narrow set up behind the plate. Aggressive to pitches on throw downs, carried the ball well to the target with pop times ranging from 2.04-2.22.

Scouting Report

Physical specimen at 6 foot 3, 225 pounds. Broad shoulders and thick lower half with raw strength throughout. Slightly open stance outside the shoulders with a high hand-set and high back elbow. Hands disconnected from the body, load back turning the barrel behind the head. Steep attack angle forces the bat into and out of the zone. Muscles the ball into the gaps. Fringe defender behind the plate, rotational footwork on throws to second, inconsistent accuracy. Deliberate footwork at first, potential conversion to corner OF possible. 7.06 60 time (laser)

5 foot 9, 150 pounds may carry a little more weight than that. Strong in the lower half with medium build through the torso and upper body. Smooth actions at the plate with a confident rhythm to the swing. Narrow stance and a knee to knee timing mechanism, flashed ability to keep the barrel in the zone and stay behind the baseball. Line drive approach up the middle and to the pull side present. Worked out as a catcher/3B. Good hip flexibility and athleticism behind the plate, transfers were clean while gaining ground toward second and producing accurate throws over the bag. Natural ability at 3B with confidence working through ground balls with smooth rhythm.

Scouting Report

1.19.19

5 foot 9 medium build, has adding some mass since summer 2018. Physical maturity moving forward will dictate future position. Uber simplistic swing with very little hand load and basic stride timing mechanism. Worked to stay behind the ball up the middle and to the opposite field. Consistently found the barrel. Narrow crouch behind the plate and quick footwork without much lower body used in his throws to second. Also worked out as a second baseman, stop and start mechanics and quick release.
