Player of the Week: Kaden Schiefelbein

Brett Thorney
State Scouting Director

Welcome to our Arizona Player of the Week

Each week our PBR Arizona staff will choose a Player of the Week from our coverage throughout the previous week's AIA Coverage. This player will be chosen based on their performance for the given week or for particular reasons that set them apart from other players from around the state of Arizona. We will try to post our player of the week at the beginning of every week throughout the spring high school season.

Player of the Week

2021 RHP KADEN SCHIEFELBEIN

2021 RHP Kaden Schiefelbein (Liberty)- Washington State commit, Schiefelbein is one of the main leaders on the Liberty Lions squad that we have ranked at No. 5 in the state in our latest Power 25 rankings update. He could be considered the ace of the pitching staff as he's also widely considered one of the top arms in the class. This past week, he got a start on the hill against a strong Chaparral Firebirds team where the Lions made a statement, shutting out the Firebirds and scoring 10 runs in 5 innings in the run rule victory. Schiefelbein threw 5 innings of shutout baseball, striking out 10 batters while not surrendering a single walk. He only gave up 4 total hits against the high-caliber offense. We had a chance to see him start in a game ourselves a couple weeks back where he ran his FB up to 91mph. While Schiefelbein is known mostly for his pitching as thats what he's been recruited for at Washington State, he can also be a contributor in the lineup with the bat. In a 3-game stretch last week, Schiefelbein was 5 for 11 with two homeruns, 6 runs & 6 RBIS. Schiefelbein will surly be a key piece for the Lions as they move forward this spring.

We congratulate Kaden Schiefelbein of Liberty High School on being nominated our PBR Arizona- Player of the Week.
