Alex Milholland (Cameron, 2015) is a 5-foot-11 190-pound RHP. At the Unsigned Senior Showcase on November 8, Milholland showed fastball in the 78-80 mph range with slight run. He has high 3/4 release with a drop and drive type delivery. He has smooth rhythm and stays in-line as he gets down the mound. Milholland has a 12-to-6 shaped curveball at 67-71 mph with gradual break and change-up at near fastball arm speed at 69-72 mph.
Last season, Milholland was selected Honorable Mention All-Conference, with a 2-2 record and 2.24 ERA. Currently, Milholland is taking visits and planning his college future. Here is look inside the recruiting process for Milholland.
PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
Milholland: Missouri Valley College, Central Methodist University, Graceland, North Central Missouri College, Fontbonne University
PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?
Miholland: I had a visit at Missouri Valley College on October 24th. I am going to Central Methodist University on the 6th of December.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
Milholland: I am looking for a school that I feel at home with when I’m on campus and a school I feel like I can do well at academically.
PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?
Milholland: My junior year I received All-Conference Honorable Mention Pitcher. I posted a 2-2 record with a 2.24 ERA and an opponent batting average of .212. I had 26 strike outs in 34.1 innings pitched throughout 10 games, as well as a WHIP of 1.39. Our team lost the first round of districts by one run.
PBR: What are you goals for your senior season? Name some players that will play a key role for Cameron in 2015.
My goals for my senior season are to win the district championship. Our school has never won districts and I think it would be an amazing way to go out with a bang. I feel we have multiple players that will play a key role in our trek towards winning districts. We have our number two pitcher, Dalton Hutcheson, back from last year who was an all-conference pitcher as a sophomore and I feel he’ll get even better this year. We also have a freshman catcher, Parker McGinness, who I feel this year will come in and make a big impact with is defensive abilities as well as his big bat.
PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?
Milholland: My travel team I play for is KC Yankees. I play fall ball with them as well as summer and some winter.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
Milholland: I currently don’t play any other sports.
PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?
Milholland: I completed the ACT in February of 2014 and got a score of 23. And my cumulative GPA is a 3.3540 on a 4.0 scale.
