Player Spotlight: OF Will Morris (Mill Valley, 2018)

Will Morris (Mill Valley, 2018) is a 5-foot-9 160-pound switch-hitting outfielder.  He attended the Class of 2018 Games in June, running a 6.93 laser timed 60 and a 4.02 home to first from the left side. Morris shows similar batting stances from both sides of the plate, athletic base that stays throughout his swing.  Defensively, Morris is aggressive to the baseball with a positional velo of 80 mph with mostly accurate throws.  

Here is a look inside the recruiting process of Will Morris.


PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Morris:  I'm looking for a good JUCO in Kansas or Missouri. I am also looking for D2 around the Midwest. Academically, I am not looking for anything specific. 

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Morris:  I had a successful junior season. My batting average was .419, with an OBP of .562. I also had 13 stolen bases and 43 QAB's. I hit lead-off in every game and making most of my starts in left or right field. Mill Valley had a great season in our first year in the EKL winning the league with a 15-5 record. We lost in a 12 inning game vs BVSW in the regional semifinals.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Morris: My goals for this year is keep up with my grades, get my ACT score up, and to help the Mill Valley baseball program be successfull this year.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Morris: I play travel ball with BTL Hornets Gold coached by Rusty Jones. I am playing fall ball with BTL this fall.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Morris: I do not play any sports to focus on my training in the off-season.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Morris: My current GPA is a 3.2 and my current ACT is a 16. I plan on taking it again in October
