1/26/20

 

6’2”  170 Small side transitions to Pivot.  High leg lift, toe down, with coil to balance.  Back side in Drop and Drive delivery early. Aggressive attacking stride slightly closed and working against body. Long deep hook arc to a high ¾ release full extension. Glove side leverage creates strong torso rotation, follow through pulls to 1B side FB 82-84 Sinking movement CB 64-65 Gradual break in zone with potential CH 73 Good arm speed and in zone. Brooks demonstrated Tempo and Strikes Aggressive and confident movements. Would consider a Top Follow in the 2022 Class High Ceiling.

Positional Profile:  RHP/2B
Body:  6’2”  170
Run: 4.45  Home to 1st
Hit: RHH  Wide Base with open front foot. Slight sway to load, stride is up/down simple. 50/50 weight distribution at launch. Hands have limited back/up movement to load, arm angles are maintained and bat head has slight tilt. Very consistent getting to launch. Has great rear side acceleration with over rotation of back foot. Hands in sync with lower half for rotational a velocity. Middle of the field approach with tendency to pull. Exit Velo 95. 2-way Player with potential as Hitter/Pitcher, would be a Strong Follow
Power:  Quick and Strong, Gerig has potential to development consistent power.
Arm: OF Velo  81 Very Short backside arc with some push  Clean finish and follow through. 
Defense:  Like athleticism.  Good rhythm to ball and good catch to release.

6-foot-1, 160-pound Right Handed Pitcher. Fluid repeatable traits on the mound.  From balance he has some sink and drive to the plate.  Arm stays consistent from a high ¾ slot.  Showcased two effective pitches in his two innings of work.  Fastball was 77-78 mph with arm side run.  Curve showed tight spin and 11/5 break and sat 64-65 mph.  Good looking pitcher for the 2022 class.

 

 


7-18-18
6-foot-1, 160-pound right hand hitting RHP/2B who ran a 7.57 60. On the mound he stands tall and gets balanced.  Strong lower leg drive to the plate and stays in-line on his delivery.  Arm speed stays consistent on all three pitches.  Delivery is from a high ¾ arm slot.  Fastball was 80 mph with command down in the zone.  He added a 57-59 mph Curve with 11/5 break and finished with a 63-65 mph Change with late down movement.
