Fall Team KY - PBR Southeast Championship, Charleston, SC.
The 5-foot-9, 145 pound Bannister manned the SS position for every inning of the tournament and to say he impressed would be an understatement. The athletic MIF didn’t commit an error in four games while making plays all over the field. He shows soft hands and the ability to make plays on the move while throwing from different arm angles. At the plate, Bannister set the table as a prototypical lead-off hitter, and once he got on the base paths, he used his speed and aggressiveness to steal several bases. He finished with 3 hits (including a double), walked twice, and scored 6 runs. He also ran a 4.29 home to first time on a ground out.
Bannister flashes occasional gap power that will continue to develop as he physically matures and gets stronger. He is a polished defender up the middle with a chance to stick at SS at the next level.
