Post season baseball is here. In the 4A classifications and below district tournaments are in progress, with some teams being eliminated on Thursday and Friday. Regional Tournaments start Thursday, May 5th. For the 6A teams they have one week of conference play left with plenty left to be settled. Let’s take a look at each conference and what’s at stake.
6A Central |
Alma 4-0 |
Greenwood 2-2 |
Siloam Springs 2-2 |
Russellville* |
With one week left the field is set but not the seeding. Greenwood could steal the one seed with a win over Alma and Siloam Springs win on the last day of the season. If Greenwood and Siloam finish with the same record, Greenwood has the run differential.
6A East |
Jonesboro 7-5 |
Searcy 8-4 |
Mtn Home 4-8 |
Marion 3-9 |
Jonesboro is the No.1 seed from the East after sweeping Searcy in their match up earlier in conference play. Searcy will be the No. 2. Depending on how Mountain Home fares against Jonesboro and Marion fares against Searcy will determine the three seed.
6A South |
Benton 10-2 |
Sheridan 10-2 |
Pine Bluff 10-2 |
Lake Hamilton 7-4 |
El Dorado 4-8 |
Arkansas 4-7 |
Hall* |
Parkview* |
The conference title will be determined this week with all three teams tied at the top playing at least one game against the other. Pine Bluff controls its own fate playing Sheridan and Benton. Benton plays El Dorado and Pine Bluff, Sheridan play Pine Bluff and Arkansas HS. If Benton and Sheridan go 2-0 this week they will share the conference championship, and Benton would be the No. 1 seed due to run differential.
