Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-3, 215-pounds. Athletic and physical build with present strength.
Delivery: Short and simple rocker style footwork around the rubber working to an easy pivot foot. Quick pace and rhythm to the delivery working to a mid height balance point. Smooth pace and repeats delivery. Works from the middle of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the mound into a firm front leg. Creates strong momentum down the slope. Hides the ball well behind the body.
Arm Action: LH. High 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action.
FB: T90.2, 87-90 mph. High riding fastball through the zone with mostly straight shape. T2184, 1992 average rpm.
SL: 76-81 mph. Short break with late depth and feel for tight spin. T2344, 2268 average rpm.
CH: 76-78 mph. Straight depth with some arm side fading action with fastball hand speed and strong sell. T1656, 1656 average rpm.

Hits: RHH. Starts with a slightly open stance and an athletic posture. Hands get set at shoulder height with a 45 degree barrel angle. Strong load into the lower half with a floating leg lift stride. Swings with strong leverage and shows some strength at contact. Lower half drives linearly through the zone into a firm front leg. Strong rotation around the core. Hands work short to the ball and keeps the hands inside the ball well on pitches on the inner half. Maintains balance well throughout the swing. Level bat path with a line drive approach.
Power: 102 max exit velocity, averaged 86 MPH. 323' max distance.

 Delivery: Short and quick rocker style footwork around the rubber with a quick pace.   Works to a high balance point with the hips slightly coiled at the top of the delivery.  Leans back in posture at the top of the delivery.  Clean hand break from the glove at the top of the delivery around the midsection.  Works from the middle of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the mound into a firm plant leg.  Slight sink into the lower half with short push off the rubber.  Longer stride down the mound into a slightly bent plant leg.  Maintains balance and athleticism throughout the delivery.

Hit: LHH.  At the plate starts with a neutral stance and upright posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a relaxed back elbow and barrel preset at 45 degree angle.  Leg lift stride to an even 50/50 weight distribution between the feet.  Lower half works linearly through the swing into a firm front leg.  Has a level bat path and line drive approach.  Gets good extension with hands working linearly through the zone.  Maintains good balance throughout the swing.  Shows current strength at contact.

Power: 92 mph exit velocity off the tee and 94 mph exit velocity in BP.

Arm: RH.  INF-81 mph.  High ¾ arm slot with long arm action and whippy follow through.

Defense: At first base shows a feel for working the body into position to make the play and the throw.  Feet work well around the bag and shows a developing feel for glove action out in front of the body.

Run: 4.72 runner to first base.

Delivery: On the mound uses a simple footwork around the rubber and body pre-turned into a closed stance.  Smooth and methodical rhythm to a high balance point with weight stacked on back leg and upper body leaning into the backside.  Strong shoulder tilt with a high glove side.  Works from the center of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the slope with good extension. 

Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action and release.

FB: 83-87 mph, gets good tilting action when down in the zone with strong arm side run.

CB: 70 mph, short breaking action with developing spin and good hand speed.

CH: 68-74 mph, good fading action to the armside with some depth.

 

 

Brex Caldwell: RHP/1B, (2024) Red Oak, OK. 6-foot-2, 220-pound solid frame. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 85 mph. Starts in a balanced stance with a small smooth load, then uses a controlled stride just before his swing. Bat speed was raw, showed simple swing plane and level finish. He Barreled up multiple balls with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 79 mph; shows a lengthy exchange, average feet and firm hands. Used an-over-the-top slot and a long arm action. Clocked a time of 7.56 in the 60-yard dash. Projectable on the mound, used a long arm action and an over-the-top arm angle while showing good arm speed. Feel type pitcher and shows some effort. Strong balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 81-83 mph with a max of 83 mph; has a arm side control that shows straight movement. Threw his tight curveball (72-73) with command low in the zone and hard action. His changeup (75-75) showed command around the zone and fading action.

 

 

A physically advanced and durable 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from a simple and average tempo delivery with rhythm and a slight pause at the top of a high leg lift before striding far down the mound and finishing to the first base side. Arm action is  long, fluid, and clean in the back before coming through a near over the top slot with very little effort. Fastball flashes some arm-side run at 78-79 mph with much more in the tank, mostly strikes. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with some tight spin at 62-63 mph. Changeup shows some fade at 70-72 mph. In the game, Caldwell punched out two of the four batters he faced. 

 

 

The young, 6-foot-2, 215-pound primary right-handed pitcher displayed a large, physical frame with present strength. The left-handed hitter featured a balanced, open stance with weight shaded towards the backside utilizing a leg-kick to initiate his swing. A strong lower-half pulled the barrel flat through the zone registering a bat-exit velocity of 80 mph . Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. The first baseman demonstrated long actions with adequate feel around the bag. A low center of gravity allowed for some range to both sides coupled with a soft glove hand. Recorded accurate throws of 79 mph across the diamond out of a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot.

Body: 6-2, 225-pounds. Physical and durable build with strength in the lower half.
Delivery: Worked exclusively out of the stretch position. Works to a high balance point with a strong weight stack onto the back leg. Quick pace and rhythm to the delivery with strong body control. Works from the third base side of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the mound into a firm plant leg. Creates strong momentum headed towards the plate. High glove front side with clean hand break.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action.
FB: T86.7, 82-85 mph. Straight shape with strong riding life through the zone and feel for command. T2148, 1886 average rpm.
CB: 72-74 mph. Strong depth with late action and tight spin. T2572, 2472 average rpm.
SL: 72-74 mph. T2446, 2338 average rpm.
CH: 76-78 mph. Arm side fading action with fastball hand speed and strong sell. T2493, 1886 average rpm.

 FB: T85.04, 82.80-84.43 mph. Heavy sinking action with good command at the bottom of the zone. T2077, 1568 average rpm.
 CB: 74.73-76.61 mph. Very short and tight spin with a 12/6 shape and good depth. T1954, 1853 average rpm.
 CH: 74.14-75.16 mph. Good downward fading action with fastball hand speed and good sell. T1624, 1508 average rpm.
