PBR OK Player of the Week: Week Six

Scott Hood
OK/MO/KS/ARK Assistant Scouting Director

The Elks from Elk City are off to one of their better starts in years thanks to a strong roster and a couple of impact players that are making themselves known across the state.  2024 OF/LHP Kash Mayfield is one of those impact players that made his presence known on both sides of the ball this week earning him player of the week honors.  The OSU commit finished the week with 5 innings pitched and allowing no hits, no runs, and two walks to eleven strikeouts.  He also got it done in a big way at the plate finishing 7-12 with 1 double, two triples, three homers, nine RBI, all while adding 8 walks and 5 stolen bases.  The future for Mayfield might be on the mound at the next level but teams for the remaining few weeks of the 2023 campaign and next year do not need to take him lightly with the bat as he proved he can do some serious damage.
