PBR OK Player of the Week: Week Eight

Scott Hood
OK/MO/KS/ARK Assistant Scouting Director

Jack Williams has been on the cusp of winning player of the week honors on multiple occasions and this week finally gets the nod with arguably his best week yet in an already impressive Junior campaign.  Going 6 for 10 at the plate with 4 of those hits leaving the park and driving in 12 runs would win player of the week but it was the timing of a few of those big flies that made the most noise.  Last Monday night trailing 6-4 in the bottom of the 6th Williams stepped up with two outs and hit a no doubter grand slam that would eventually lead to an 8-7 victory.  Tuesday night trailing 7-4 Williams hit a three run homer to tie up it up and another eventual 8-7 win.  He followed up those two big nights against district opponents and then put two more over the fence against a very good Sand Springs team for his 3rd and 4th homers of the week.  Williams has had the type of tools and physicality that scouts dream of and now is really starting to get that to show up in 2022 and is a big reason why Bixby remains one of the top contenders in the State.
