PBR MN Rising Stars ID- Brooklyn Park: Event Preview
March 8, 2023
On Sunday, March 12th, 2023, Prep Baseball Report Minnesota will be conducting its 2nd Junior Future Games Trial event giving 2027 graduates the opportunity to tryout for Team MN. The event is to be held at the Brooklyn Park dome in Brooklyn Park, MN
For the majority of the athletes at this event it will be their first opportunity to participate in a showcase, and the initial step towards achieving a baseball player’s goals. The 2025 and 2026 classes set the tone for #TeamMN for years to come.
The fall event identified some major talent in the state and this event will be packed with talent as well. RHP/3B Eliot De Leon for Anoka, MN will be in attendance. De Leon is no stranger to the Junior Future Games, as he participated last summer. He looks to get the chance to play Team MN this summer. The 5-9 prospect has posted a mid 80’s fastball and an 89 mph exit velocity. The talent level of this age group continues to develop at an impressive rate.
This event will have 4 main functions for the athletes.
First will be the opportunity to be considered for #TeamMN and have the opportunity to be invited to Lakepoint and participate in one of PBR’s premiere events in the summer of 2023.
Second, will be an educational piece about the beginning of the recruiting process, what scouts are looking for, and the overall landscape of years to come for the ballplayers.
Third, the event gives PBR MN the opportunity to get an in-depth look at the skill of the 2027 class and the future of baseball in the state of Minnesota.
Fourth function of the event will be for athletes to create baseline numbers to improve on over the years and to see how they compare to the other athletes in the class.
