The PBR Illinois - Harper College Scout Day took place on Wednesday, September 22. The event was held at Harper College in Palatine, IL and each prospect in attendance was able to showcase their talents in front of our scouting staff. 

Today, we’ll bring to you a quick statistical analysis of those that participated in the event, as well as a quick nugget on those who stood out. We’ll continue to roll content out from this particular showcase as the week rolls on, so be on the lookout for that. 

STAT STORY

+ INF Joey Fitzpatrick (Marian Central Catholic, 2019) and INF Ehinger Adrianza (Felix Varela Senior, 2021) came away as standouts, as it was the first time our staff had gotten a look at each of these two prospects and they made a strong impression, especially amongst the infield crop. Adrianza threw the hardest bullet across the infield, topping at 86 mph to his target. As for Fitzpatrick, the 6-foot, 190-pound left-handed hitter barreled his best ball up at 97 mph in BP, per TrackMan. 

+ C Julio Cajigas (Romeoville, 2019) came away as the top catcher from this event, showcasing an impressive multifaceted skill set. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound right-handed hitter had the top arm down to second base at an 81 mph high from the crouch and also posted a sub-2.00 second pop time. Cajigas used the proportional strength attached throughout his frame to square one up at 99 mph off the barrel in BP, too. 

+ OF George Betevis (Bartlett, 2021) ran the fastest 60-yard dash of the day, clocking a 6.74 on our lasers. He showcased a strong, accurate arm to home plate as well, topping at 86 mph from the outfield. 

+ RHP Justin Rhode (Marian Central, 2020) utilized a short, loose arm to bump his fastball up to 87 mph - the fastest number of the event. He sat at 85-86 mph throughout his pen and spun his slider at a 2,400+ RPM average at 68-71 mph.
