Scouting Report
5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; swings into higher athletic tuck and turn balance point, compact arm action, slight hitchiness and stab on backside. Fastball was 79-83 mph with solid cutting action at plate. Solid/avg. 11/5 breaking ball for strikes. Cut action on changeup to glove side of plate. 4.95 home to first time. Wider stance, double tap trigger with body load, line drive contact, tends to leap through hitting zone and pulls of contact early, solid bat speed, squares baseball consistently, 81 mph exit velocity. Works through ball, funnels into body, avg. direction with feet to throw, arm has carry and accuracy to base, 78 mph arm across infield.
5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; short rocker step into athletic tuck and turn balance point, shows rhythm in delivery, lands slightly across body, compact arm action with solid hand quickness out front. Fastball was 80-82 mph with late arm-side run and sink. Breaking ball is tight with 11/5 shape and late break for strikes. Late diving action on changeup to arm-side. 7.12 runner. Wide square stance, body load, uses lower half in swing, some stiffness in finish, shows hard line drive contact to middle of field, aggressive swinger with solid bat speed, 83 mph exit velocity. Works around and through, hands are sure, fields deep into body occasionally, solid athlete in field, arm plays well across with accuracy and carry, 80 mph arm strength across infield.
4/29/18- 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. On mound; short rocker step into higher athletic tuck and turn balance point, clean arm action with easy effort, ball jumps out of hand, and fastball was 78-79 mph. Solid arm speed and feel for changeup. Breaking ball has solid 11/5 spin with avg. depth. 7.15 runner. Wide stance with body load, shows ability to drive ball from oppo gap to pull side, solid present strength, clean bat path, shows solid bat speed with developing power, 86 mph exit velocity. Athletic in field, soft hands, developing footwork, ability to throw from multiple angles, solid overall actions, 74 mph arm strength across infield.
