Scouting Report

8/04/19

 

6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 4.63 home to first time. Projectable frame in box, body load, loses connection creating arm bar, has quality extension through contact, occasional pop in bat, spray contact and uses both sides of field, 86 mph exit velocity. Works through ball, softer hands, tends to stop to throw, solid overall actions, has carry and accuracy to bag, 83 mph arm strength across infield. On mound; controlled tempo, higher athletic tuck and turn, hard stab on back side of arm action. Fastball was 82-83 mph with varying action to plate. Avg. shape and break on 11/5 curveball for strikes. Solid feel for changeup with late fade and sink.

 

 

7/30/18- 6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 4.65 H-1B time. Long athletic frame that should continue to fill out. Body load, stays short to contact, produces above avg. bat speed and has present pop in bat, drives ball with lift through contact, projects well offensively, 95 mph exit velocity. Athletic in field, active feet, soft glove with footwork, moves well laterally, quick release with carry and accuracy to bag, has actions in field, 81 mph arm strength across infield. On mound; good body control into crouched balance point, tends to leak away from rubber early, head whack to clear arm path from OT slot, some effort delivery. Fastball was 77-80 mph with varying action to plate. Throws tighter breaking ball with 11/5 shape. 2 pitch strike thrower and is athletic on mound. Strong follow in IA 2021 class.
