Northern Nevada Prospect ID-Statistical Analysis

The inaugural PBR Nevada showcase, The Northern Nevada Prospect I.D., took place on Sunday, October 21s at Reno High School in Reno, NV. The open event featured roughly 30 prospects from the valley, including the 2019-2022 graduating classes. It contained both players ready to make an impact at the next level as well as younger players with bright futures in the game. This event saw each participant complete the 60-yard dash, positional workouts, and live batting practice, followed by pitcher bullpen sessions. Here's a look at the numbers from Sunday's event.

TOP 60 YARD DASH
There were five sub-7.2-second laser-timed 60-yard dash times recorded on Sunday. Paul Vossen, (Bishop Manogue, 2019) clocked the quickest 60 of the event, posting a time of 6.49-seconds. John Kane (Reno, 2019), Coleman Schmidt (Reno, 2020), Jack Weise (Bishop Manogue, 2020) and Cade Grogan (Reno, 2019) followed, separated by slim margins.

TOP FASTBALL VELOCITY
John Barry (Reno, 2019) topped the fastball leaderboard touching 85 mph on Sunday. While Caedon Kottinger (Reno, 2020), Matthew Sigafoos (Damonte Ranch, 2021), Toray Felix (Reno, 2020) and Sam Smith (Reno, 2021) each ran their fastballs up to 81+ mph.

There were 10+ prospects who posted 80+ mph exit velocities at Sunday’s event. Coleman Schmidt (Reno, 2020) registered 91 mph to lead the pack. While John Kane (Reno, 2019), Jack Weise (Bishop Manogue, 2020), Sam Smith (Reno, 2021), Isaac Schuck (Reno, 2019), and Garrett Hires (Bishop Manogue, 2019) all posted exit velocities of 87 or better mph.

Coleman Schmidt (Reno, 2020) showed off arm strength on Sunday, posting an event best 84 mph positional velocity from the infield. While Matthew Sigafoos (Damonte Ranch, 2021), Calvin Bailey (Bishop Manogue, 2019), Garrett Hires (Bishop Manogue, 2019) and Jack Weise (Bishop Manogue, 2020) round out the leaderboard from Sunday.

While Caedon Kottinger (Reno, 2020), Garrett Hires (Bishop Manogue, 2019), John Kane (Reno, 2019) and Calvin Bailey (Bishop Manogue, 2019) showed off strong arms from the outfield on Sunday.

Isaac Schuck (Reno, 2019) posted the top pop time of the event at 1.94. While, Calvin Bailey (Bishop Manogue, 2019) posted a 1.98 and Kaden Schuck (Reno, 2022) posted a pop time of 2.08-seconds. Carson Isip (Reno, 2021) came in at 2.11 followed by Eric Brilliant (Bishop Manogue, 2021) at 2.25.
