Northeast 2025s

Shooter Hunt
Vice President, Scouting

The spring season is in full bloom, and action is popping off all over the country. This week’s On the Hunt dives into the northeast with a collection of eight players in the 2025 class that show plenty of intriguing upside.

Logan Dawson SS / RHP / Eastern, NJ / 2025

Dawson’s wiry-athletic, 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame and left-handed stick are likely to draw the interest of college coaches as early as this summer. Setting up in a slight crouch with an athletic base, his weight transfer stands out with the hands rocking slightly back before delivering a quick barrel through the zone with some ability to turn it with surprising authority. The bat speed is evident with a present gap-to-gap approach, and there should be even more power on the way as the frame continues to fill out. On the infield, Dawson exhibits crisper footwork with solid hands to go along with a quick, athletic arm that may allow him to stick at shortstop moving forward. Overall, Dawson’s left-handed stroke shows plenty of promise, and as he continues to mature and gain more in-game experience, look for him to rise.
