New England Insider: Class of 2020 Player Rankings (September)
With the Spring and Summer seasons behind us, we look at some of the prospects throughout the New England region. There are a number of good high school players throughout the area and below is a list of some of the better players in the region.
We have seen numerous prospects over the past spring and summer at PBR events, local workouts and games from across the region, and a lot of time and thought put in from our staff with these updated rankings.
That being said, we have had the pleasure of seeing a number of solid players this past spring and summer. Prospects are popping up left and right, making velocity jumps, improving 60-yard dash times and showing more power with the bat.
Covering six states, New England is a prime area for legit baseball talent and now we would like to bring to you the updated 2020 Player Rankings.
What's New At The Top
- Matthew Joyce, ranked #1, is a quick armed right-hander out of St Sebastian’s is progressing very well on the bump. The Boston College commit is a good one to see in the coming years.
- Myles McDermott, of Archbishop Williams, ranked #2, is a high level prospect, pitching in the upper 80’s.
- Will Jones, ranked #3, is a high level left-hander who pitched in Indianapolis last August. Tons of projection and frame to boot.
- Emmitt Tolis, ranked #4, is a legit 6-foot-6 right-handed pitching prospect.
The Risers
- Saar Rosa, Oxford student showed well in Indianapolis. The arm strength and projectability are both present.
- Nick Carelli, St. John Shrewsbury middle infielder showed tremendous game at in event in early August. Runs, defends and the bat has plenty of life to it.
- Patrick Roche, excellent looking middle infielder out of BC High. The frame and hands project to stay at the position.
- John Carney, right-hander out of Mansfield is an excellent looking right-handed arm. Projects to have all 3 pitches be advanced down the road.
- Connor Walsh, two-way guy out of Bridgewater-Raynham is a guy to see. Plenty of arm strength on the mound and certainly can catch and throw.
