Natural State Game: Unsigned Senior Spotlight

By; Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

The Natural State Games are October 27th and 28th at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas. This event will feature some of the premiere talent from all corners of the state. As we move closer to the event, I wanted to highlight some of the players, to keep an eye on;

2018 MIF/OF Bryce Dodd, will stand out with his pure athleticism. Dodd ran a 6.37 in the 60 at the Top Prospects Games in June and followed it up with a 6.55 at the Northwest Arkansas Open in July. Here is a look at his profile.

Scouting Report

Dodd is a 5-foot-10 155-pound athlete with an athletic frame and thin build. He stands out athletically as he runs a 6.37 in the 60. Offensively he starts from a tall stance with a minimum load stride combination. He takes a long stride and attacks the baseball with a line drive swing with fast bat speed. Defensively he shows the ability to play either outfield or infield. He has a strong arm where he throws the baseball 85 mph across the infield and 86 mph from the outfield. He plays through the baseball with normal action and uses a normal exchange and smooth foot work. Overall Dodd is an advanced athlete that will improve as his overall strength and size improves.
