Scouting Report

10/21/18 - Lean, 5-10, 145, Bailey has room to add needed weight and strength.  A solid athlete, he showed well at all three spots, infield, outfield and behind the plate.  He is better suited for extended time in the infield, but his versatility is documented.  In the outfield he showed solid actions with enough arm to play a corner.  Both his arm strength and carry will be enhanced with footwork efficiency.  Taking groundballs at short, Bailey displays most comfortable actions with easy rhythm. The actions and arm lend presently to second base, but growth and development make him serviceable at all three spots.  Behind the plate, he relies heavily on a quick exchange, and accuracy.  He is a solid receiver with soft hands, block and recovery skills would need to improve for a long term stay.  He sets up at the plate, wide, semi bow-legged with good balance.  Load is simple and small with a line drive approach.  The swing is handsy with quickness, solid plane and a fluid follow through.

Future

Although Bailey can lend depth to a small college program, a stay at a two year institution might provide just the right amount of time to further devop at an everyday infield position. With a ceiling of a two hole, bat handler type hitter, Bailey is sure to be prodctive and execute at the spot. He possesses the ability to use the whole field.  Size and strength increases accompanied by natural maturation provide gap power and chance to hit for average.
