Scouting Report
11.18.18 - Defensively, shows athleticism with running a 7.21-sixty. Gets around the ball and keeps momentum going through his target. Flashes solid glove hand and a 72 mph positional velocity.
Offensively, initiates swing in a spread athletic position. Displayed a compact, stroke from the right side. Registered a 79 mph exit velocity off the tee.
On the mound, Mize's FB sat 71-72 with some late run at the plate. Pitching motion is long and exaggerated, but does have late life on all of his pitches. Mize recorded his CH at 61-62 mph and his CB at 61-62 mph. Mize will be an intriguing follow in the 2021 Class.
8/26/18 Defensively, flashes fluid, athletic actions in tracking ball in the air. Consistently, gets behind and plays through ball both in the air and on the ground. Shows soft, confident glove hand.
Offensively, 6-foot-3, 170 pound right-handed hitter initiates swing from slightly open set up with short stride staying open. Separation and weight shift are adequate. Hip turn and backside release are passive. A solid for age bat exit velocity of 84 mph was registered.
