Spanish Fort  (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: C/OF Continues to progress and prove why he is one of the top catchers in the 2024 AL class.
Body: 6-0, 175-pounds. Very projectable and sturdy frame that has added size and strength since the last time we saw him.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, even stance showing a fairly large leg kick and a definite load to the backside.  Small, smooth load of the hands and a direct path to contact. There is some tilt in the bat path that creates backspin and carry off the bat.
Power: 97.32 max exit velocity, averaged 88.12 mph. 269’ max distance. Showed a violent barrel through the zone with juice to all fields.
Arm: RH. C - 78 mph. OF - 88 mph. Short, arm action and high 3/4 slot with definite arm strength with throws on the bag.
Defense: 1.85-1.97 pop times. Quick,athletic footwork from behind the plate with solid flexibility.
Run: 7.34 runner in the 60.

Position: C/OF

Body: 5-foot-11, 165-pound proportional frame.

Hit: (RHH) Starts in an open athletic stance with a compact load, then uses a small leg kick. Above average bat speed. High finish, upward swing. Gap to gap approach.

Power: 89 mph exit velocity, average 76.61 mph. 59.51 mph bat speed average. 18.22 mph hand speed average.

Defense: (C) 1.88-2.06 pop times. Smooth footwork, twitchy exchange. Advanced. Athletic setup with tons of flexibility.

Arm: 77 mph catcher velocity. Short arm action, an-over-the-top slot, consistent accuracy.

Speed: 7.34 (60-yard).

Alabama has produced high level catchers over the years and Holley appears to be next in line in the 2024 state class. 


 

Our Preseason All State events are quickly approaching (January 16 and January 23). This event has grown into a heavily-attended event, so this year we will have two different events with one being in the northern half of the state and the other to be held in the southern part of the state.
