Midwest Future Games Spotlight: C/3B Zach Minnick

Zach Minnick earned a spot on the Team Pennsylvania roster with his performance at the WV Open ID Showcase on July 16. The 6-foot, 215-pound C/3B showcased pop times of 1.87-1.97 on throws of 83 mph from the crouch, ran a 7.12 60-yard dash and turned in a 96 mph bat exit velocity. He went on to sit 86-88 from the mound. Minnick will see time behind the plate, at 3B, in the OF and on the mound at the Midwest Future Games.
Minnick had an impressive freshman season in 2012 gaining him recognition statewide as one of the top underclassmen in West Virginia. He hit a robust .366 with 24 RBI and 24 runs scored. In 35.1 innings of work on the mound, he went 5-1 with a 4.16 ERA. Minnick's numbers were even better in 2013 as a sophomore. He went 7-2 with a 1.38 ERA and hit .539 with 6 home runs and 39 RBI.
