The Division II picks are in. Division I you are on the clock.
Regional 11
Teams:
Grand Rapids South Christian vs Eaton Rapids
Haslett vs Linden
Grand Rapids South Christian has the strongest schedule and finished the year 20-3. Linden has some intriguing young talent but they are not ready for this stage. Plus battle tested teams win in the tournament.
Our Pick: Grand Rapids South Christian
Regional 12
Teams:
Grand Rapids Christian vs Comstock Park
Allendale vs Hudsonville Unity Christian
Grand Rapids Christian is the defending state champion in Division II. They aren't the same team as last year and had their ups and downs but that experience may help. VanDeVusse, Schipper, Batka and Sigler will be too much to handle.
Our Pick: Grand Rapids Christian
Regional 9
Teams:
Whitehall vs Chippewa Hills
Cheboygan vs Gladwin
Senior Jake Tarbell and Chippewa Hills should get through this regional. Ben Wright knows how to coach and they are 24-7 on the year. Chippewa Hills gets through to the quarters
Our Pick: Chippewa Hills
Regional 10
Teams:
Imlay City vs Mt. Morris
Mt. Pleasant vs. Bay City John Glenn
Junior Nash Irwin and and senior Kelsey Sorenson should advance to the finals of the regionals but they that may be about it. The winner of John Glenn and Mt. Pleasant should advance to the quarters. John Glenn was also the the state runner up last year.
Our Pick: Bay City John Glenn
Regional 15
Teams:
Center Line vs Hamtramck
Divine Child vs South Lyon East
Divine Child was in Battle Creek last year expect nothing else again this year. The four lefties at Divine Child (Schmidtke, Henderson, Goslin and Lapshan) will prove to much for the rest of this email.
Our Pick: Divine Child
Regional 16
Teams:
Richmond vs St. Clair
Orchard Lake St. Mary's vs Clawson
Richmond has offense. St Clair has defense and pitching. If it turns into a high scoring affair it will favor Richmond. Orchard Lake St. Mary's should throw off and save Conor Bowers for the finals. We are putting this regional on Upset Alert.
Our Pick: Orchard Lake St. Mary's
Regional 13
Teams:
Coldwater vs Otsego
South Haven vs Berrien Springs
Junior Kyle Rago (Berrien Springs) is on fire. He has thrown 34 scoreless innings and has a .62 ERA on the year. It will be really tight but we are picking Rago will beat South Haven to move to the finals. We like them to ride the momentum into the quarters over Coldwater.
Our Pick: Berrien Springs
Regional 14
Teams:
Riverview vs Milan
Battle Creek Harper Creek vs Tecumseh
Thomas Lindeman through a shutout to advance Milan into the Regionals but this is the end of the road for the Big Red. Tecumseh has been one of our favorties all year and tomorrow is no different. Tecumseh gets through, riding Jacob Britt, Phil Carey, Andrew Wood, and Nick Cowen.
Our Pick: Tecumseh
