Defending Class 4A State Champs Lyons Township (22-12-1) defeated Reavis 10-7 on Thursday. Lion junior starting pitcher RHP Keith Lehmann (8-2) picked up the win and saved his own game by re-entering in the top of the seventh with no out and the bases full of Rams.
Lehmann got a big strikeout and then the pitchers best friend, the old 1-2-3 double play to end this thriller.
Evan Booth, Steve Heilenbach and Brad Taylor all went deep for the defending Class 4A state champions.

Lincoln-Way East (21-12) outslugged rival Lincoln-Way Central 10-8. Griffin Kevin Duffin continued his all-out assault on the baseball with a 4-for-4 day against the Knights. Duffin hit a three-run bomb, doubled twice and drove home four big Griffin runs.

Andrew (26-10) romped past host Richards 9-3 behind a six-hitter from T-Bolt senior Marcus Radz (5-2). Radz struck out nine Bulldogs. T-Bolt senior SS Pat Elget went deep with two on for Andrew. 6-foot-3, 225-pound junior Zach Klockowski chipped in with two-hits and two RBI for the T-Bolts.

Plainfield South (22-13) slipped past Joliet West 3-2 behind Cougar juniors Greg Butler and Rick Salazar. Butler put the Cougars up 2-1 with a long bomb in the bottom of the sixth and after Joliet West (20-15) tied it at 2-2, Salazar singled home the game-winner with a single with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Cougar senior RHP Julian Clouse (7-2) fired a three-hitter at the Tigers with nine strikeouts.

Minooka (23-13) vs. Plainfield South (22-13) Saturday 11
Pekin
Normal Community (17-19) sent Pekin home in dramatic fashion on Thursday. Ironman Eric Fight hammered a three-run bomb in the top of the tenth inning to send NCHS past the Dragons 5-2. 6-foot-6, 275 pound Randy Hiedeman (5-4) fired 4 1/3 innings of shutout relief to pick up the win. Hiedeman struck out six.

M-S was led by Bulldog freshman Joe Kenny, who had a two-run double and finished with three RBI. Herrmann had a clutch RBI single to help himself. Bloomington bows out at 28-7.
