Marucci Founders Club Scout Day: Stat Story

Andy Urban
OK/MO/KS Scouting Supervisor

One of the most talented scout days we have ever done in Missouri, the Marucci Founders Club Scout Day event took place on Sunday, January 24th at their state of the art indoor facility. Leading the way at the event were some of the most talented upperclassmen in the state along with some under the radar underclassmen who look poised to make big splashes in the next rankings update.

Leading the way on the defensive side of the ball at the event was 2021 SS Jeremy Rader (Springfield Catholic HS and Mo. State commit) with quick feet (which he also showed off with a 4.22 home-to first) sure hands, and a big arm up to 90 mph across the diamond.

Behind the dish, Noah Wilkinson had a strong day with pop times as low as 1.96 and throws up to 72 mph all over the bag. Offensively, the right-handed hitter barreled almost every ball to the pull side in BP and was 92 mph with wood off of the tee.

With the bats, it was LHH 2022 Zack Stewart (Lebanon HS and Mo. State commit) and 2021 Rhett Hendricks (Kickapoo HS and Johnson CC commit) put on a power display with wood posting exit velos of 99 and 105 respectively, both finding big barrels in BP as well.

On the mound, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound left-hander Landon Richards (Hollister and Johnson CC commit) had an impressive pen, sitting 86-87 and touching 88, also mixing in a true spitter with consistent dive at 77 mph. Right-hander Luke Stamps had possibly the cleanest pen of the day making a huge splash onto the state scene. The 6-foot-1, 155-pound pound uber projectable 2022 dominated the zone with his fastball at 87-88 with consistent arm-side run. He also blended a slider and curveball with depth in the zone at 76-78 mph.
