MS Director's List: 2026 Catchers
February 13, 2023
The Director's List is a live list of uncommitted names inside of the state's 2026 class that the PBR Mississippi staff saw throughout its Preseason ID winter showcase circuit. It serves as a landing page for players and coaches to monitor, providing an opportunity to recognize break-out performers during our winter events in between updates to the state rankings.

Hayden Amis C / RHP / Newton County, MS / 2026+ C Hayden Amis (Newton County, 2026) jumped onto our radar this past summer where he attended the Mississippi Open at the University of Southern Miss in June. Amis has a lot to like in the strong and sturdy 5-foot-11, 195-pound frame. The left handed hitting catcher shows a simple and mature approach at the plate, quite load and relaxed with the hands. Works up the middle of the field and showed the ability to flash some pop in the gaps. Posted a top exit velocity of 87.9 mph during his round of batting practice. Defensively sound behind the dish, quick transfers on throws with a 1.94-2.07 pop time to go along with a 73 mph C velo. |
