Sophomore INF Jeremy Rader has put together an impressive season for the Cavaliers. Over 48 games, Rader has been a force at the plate hitting .420/.527/.645, tallying 58 total hits so far. While Rader has shown great ability to get on base consistently, he’s proved that he has power as well, leaving the yard 7 times, doubling 8 times, and driving in 44 runs. With only 14 strikeouts in 170 plate appearances, it is clear that Rader had elite contact at the plate, and is capable of putting balls in play in any situation. Rader has also proven to have an elite glove in the hot corner, with a .974 fielding percentage. Rader has stolen 10 bags on the year, showing his athleticism on the base paths. Rader provided a display of his speed at the Johnson County CC Scout Day last fall, where he ran a 6.74 60, and showed of his arm by tossing 90 across the diamond. All signs point to Rader having success at the next level, and it’s just a matter of time before he shows that.
