JUCO Uncommitted Spotlight: Jayden Shafer

Scott Hood
OK/MO/KS/ARK Assistant Scouting Director

Sophomore first baseman and outfielder Jayden Shafer had a big year for the Aggies of Murray State and helping them reach the Division 2 JUCO World Series.  Shafer hit .346 on the season including three homers along with 12 doubles and driving in 38 runs.  Shafer spent most of the season playing first base for the Aggies but has shown some positional versatility mixing in some time in left field as of late.  At our Murray State Scout Day in the Fall, Shafer showed a consistent round of barrels from the left side of the plate with exit velos into the low 90's during BP with showing quick hands and good overall bat speed.  Shafer currently remains uncommitted, and you can check him out in Enid at the World Series where the Aggies will take on Mercer County at 4pm Central on May 28th.
