JUCO Uncommitted Spotlight - Gabe Russell

Sophomore 1B/OF Gabe Russell from Labette is having a great spring for the Cardinals in 2023. Through 52 games, he has tallied 71 hits and slashed .368/.437/.585. Hitting primarily in the clean up spot, Russell was able to rack up 16 doubles, 1 triple, and 8 home runs while driving in 56 runs in 193 at bats. He has also posted an impressive .965 fielding percentage. Russell had a strong workout last fall for the Allen County & Labette CC Scout Day where he ran a 7.38 in the 60, posted a 80 mph infield velo across the diamond, and a 81 mph outfield velo. Gabe showed off his pop from the left side of the plate by reaching exit velos up to 99.8 mph and posing a 67% sweet spot percentage. Russell has an impressive hit tool and a large amount of potential that will have him as an impact player at the next level.
