Sophomore C Daniel Mendez has been enjoying a solid year for North Central Missouri in 2023. In 65 plate appearances across 24 games, he has slashed .333/.460/.471 with 1 home run, 11 RBI, and 3 stolen bases. He has displayed excellent defensive ability, with a .962 fielding percentage and 8 runners caught stealing. Mendez performed well at last fall’s State Fair and North Central Scout Day. His pop time of 1.88-2.00 seconds is impressive and indicates a strong ability to throw runners out, and his 88.3 MPH average exit velocity indicates that he can consistently hit the ball hard. Mendez’s numbers from this season should impress coaches at the next level.
