Scouting Report

7/30/20

Physical: Lean / projectable 6-foot-2, 155-pound frame with high level athleticism throughout the movements. 7.38 runner in the 60-yard dash, long strides. Offensively: RHH. Bent, open stance with the hands low at the shoulder in the setup. Utilized a controlled lift and replace stride to initiate the swing through a slightly uphill path in the hitting zone. Stayed relatively tall in the posture while hitting into a stiff front side, but generated plenty of barrel whip towards impact. Got off high intent swings with regularity in the box, liked to get the long levers extended out over the plate for leverage, recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 91 mph according to Trackman Baseball / peppered the left side of the field from LCF gap to LF line / 325 maximum batted ball distance. Legitimate pop for his age with room to continue adding strength. Defensively: The primary third baseman featured a medium center of gravity while playing on the balls off his feet with downhill momentum through the baseball, above average pace across the diamond with 1-2 footwork after fielding and then gets rid of it out of a quick, ¾ arm-slot. The hands worked effortlessly out in front, showed feel for the play on the run and changing arm angles if need be. INF - 75 mph Pitching: RHP - Started from the middle of the rubber with a quick pace in the delivery, side rocker step into a medium leg lift at waist height with deep hip coil around the backside, landed with relative height in the posture upon landing allowing the arm to come through a high ¾ slot at release. FB ranged from 74-76 mph with an upwards of 2106 spin per Trackman Baseball, mixed in an adequate 61-63 mph breaker with short and late 11/5 shape to it.
