Team Georgia 14u 1: Game One Recap
July 26, 2023
Georgia got off to a slow start in Game 1 against Mid Atlantic behind some good arms. Ryan Trout had an impressive outing for Georgia going 4 innings while giving up 1 run. Trout struck out 5 in his outing while only allowing 3 hits. In the bottom of the 4th, the Georgia bats started to find their rhythm. Matthew Westbrook roped one into right field and over the wall to put 2 runners in scoring position. Georgia finds its first run of the day after capitalizing on a balk and ties it up. Isaiah Galason then gets a pitch to hit and singles up the middle to put Georgia in front 2-1. Georgia’s offense continues to explode with an RBI single by Jake Adamson, who collected his 2nd hit of the game. Matthew Franatovich finds a pitch to hit and pulls one to right for a 2-run homer extending Georgia’s lead to 5-1. Georgia continues to capitalize on some mistakes and Chase Campbell singles into center for an RBI extending Georgia’s lead to 8-1. In relief, Tyson Ganas shuts down the Mid Atlantic lineup and Georgia goes on to win 9-1.

Tall, slender build. Getting it done for Team Georgia today, with 4 IP. Hides ball well with deceptive arm action, allowing his pitches to play up. #PBRJFG23 pic.twitter.com/4BruIfowME

Solid compact delivery, good footwork creates good direction in pitch. Hides ball well with deceptive arm action, allowing his pitches to play up. #PBRJFG23 pic.twitter.com/iDIFn5luHo

One of the smoothest swings in the #PBRJFG23 & it was on display here.
Rhythm in hands & fluidity through impact. Shoulders gradually tilt creating loft.
Catches this one perfectly out front for a HR. pic.twitter.com/MC7pIaSal2
