Inside the Recruitment: '17 RHP Jack Huisman commits to Western Michigan
Jack Huisman, RHP, Holland Christian, 2017
PBR: Why did you choose Western Michigan?
Jack: The coaching staff really was the biggest part for me, all of the coaches are great. Also, the fact that I can play Division 1 baseball at a college that isn't too far from home is great as well.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Jack: I had been contacted by Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Spring Arbor, Hope, and Lewis University in Chicago.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
Jack: I went to a prospect camp at Western during the summer.
PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment?
Jack: I play for the Holland Toro's, and my most memorable moment was pitching and winning a championship game.
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?
Jack: I guess the biggest thing for me was to find the right place for me. When I visited Western and met the coaches, I immediately felt like it was the right fit for me.
PBR: What were your stats last spring season?
Jack: 7-1, 4.28 ERA, 51 K's
PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced?
Jack: Alec Overbeek from Hamilton
