June 22, 2016
Jack Pagliarini, LHP, Springboro HS, Class of 2017
PBR: Why did you choose Northwestern?
Pagliarini: I chose Northwestern because it gave me the best mix of academics and athletics. The school itself has a great reputation, and the fact that I can play Big 10 baseball at the same time is a huge plus.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Pagliarini: I was considering Harvard, Boston College, Miami(OH), and Columbia.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
Pagliarini: The first time they physically saw me was at a high school scrimmage. Initially, I sent them a video of my previous summer outings and that got their interest.
PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment.
Pagliarini: I play for the Midland Braves. My most memorable moment was going down to Texas to play in the Mickey Mantle World Series.
PBR: Northwestern is well known for their high academics, how do you plan to juggle school and baseball at the same time?
Pagliarini: Juggling both will be pretty tough but I am planning on sticking to a strong work ethic and keeping a tight schedule to keep myself on task.
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?
Pagliarini: Before my process started I expected it to be a lot less work than it was. After finishing up, my advice would be to reach out to schools that both fit you well and are interested in you.
PBR: What were your stats last spring?
Pagliarini: Last spring I went 5-1 with 40 innings pitched and 45K's. I held a 0.73 ERA.
PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced?
Pagliarini: Sebastian Fabik
